WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
Build skills for reliable everyday control
This 8-week course builds on established training skills, helping you develop a dog that responds reliably and remains under control in a wider range of everyday situations.
Training incorporates the skills required for the Royal Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Training Scheme Silver and Gold Awards, giving you the opportunity to work towards these awards as part of your training if you wish to.
Training includes:
- Developing controlled and consistent lead walking
- Improving recall and responsiveness
- Maintaining control around people, dogs and distractions
- Building longer and more reliable stays
- Developing greater control at a distance
- Road walking and everyday safety
- Building confidence and reliability in more challenging situations
The emphasis remains on practical training that is useful in everyday life rather than competition-style obedience, progressing both dog and handler towards a higher standard of control and confidence.
HOW THE COURSE WORKS
Eight training sessions with a flexible schedule
The course includes eight one-hour training sessions, with up to ten weeks to complete them, excluding bank holiday weekends. This gives you the flexibility to miss up to two sessions for holidays or other commitments.
Sessions are available on Wednesdays and Saturdays, . If you are unable to attend your usual session, you can swap to the alternative session that week, provided you let us know in advance.
The course includes eight training sessions in total; the additional two weeks provide flexibility rather than additional sessions.

Complete the form below to register. Once we receive your request, we’ll send you an invoice with a choice of payment options. Your booking will be confirmed once payment has been received.
Notes:
Once we receive your registration, we may invite new clients to a face-to-face meeting to discuss their training requirements, assess their dog’s needs and confirm that the course is suitable before confirming their place.
Any dog attending a training session must be fully vaccinated and in good health. Handlers should bring plenty of their dog’s small favourite treats with them.
When attending training, please park in front of the hay barn. Do not drive or park on the grass within the farm limits.
